I went to the Amazon for a few days of fishing a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Caught many peacock bass (aka tucanare) and some piranhas. A real adventure! Incredible wildlife down there. Saw more pink river dolphins than I could count! Flocks of scarlet macaws and other amazing birds. Also vampire bats and caimans! While I used surface lures and spinning gear, tucanare are game for flies too of course. If you want any more info let me know. Left from Manaus and went up the Rio Negro basin. Enjoy the pics:
