I run along that section and have never seen much that would entice me to fish there. It looks relatively fishy but all I have seen was a catfish and a few smallish bait sized fish.

Look for a area flood advisory when its been dry for a few days. You will find clear water pushed way up into the creek. People have caught snakeheads all the way up and across from Giant. You'll find bullhead catfish above the fall line. Look for deep pockets where fish feel safe. Wear your waders and be up on your tetanus shot.

For last year's tournament, which lasted a weekend (not a month), I launched from Occoquan Regional Park and fished up and down the river bank between the park and the Ox Road Bridge (123). Also good to try the pylons among the marina slips across the river from the Park.

Check around at either canoe/kayak dealers and or some of the outfitters.

Try calling Appomattox River Company to see if they can refer you to a shop that can do the repair.

I don't remember Wilderness Systems building fiberglass boats. They primarily focused on producing rotomolded and what they called composite boats. The composite component could be one of several materials including kevlar and graphite/carbon fabric.

My wife and I own a fiberglass Wilderness Systems Sealution sea kayak that we got as a wedding present almost 20 years ago. It was in great shape...until it fell off the car at 60mph -- along with the other kayak and the kayak carrier and the bike carrier and the two bikes! Fortunately, no one got hurt.
