And practice casting it on your rod.  The heavier line behaves differently. The cast ends up feeling like it is in slow motion.  If you get a line, bring it out to casting church and practice a bit.  .

Sink tip on it with intermediate running line.  Scientific Angler ( District Anglers ) and Orvis sell them.   It would work fine on. 5 or 6 wt.   I keep my leader about 4 ' of  8 lb.
