Thanks, Brook. An excellent break-down of casting dynamics, and it's amazing to see the properties of those early glass rods in the hands of a master. 

One question: where can I get a hat like Jim's? 😂

It is Jim Green teaching how to cast.  Jim Green designed virtually all of the Fenwick glass and original graphite rods and then moved to Sage, where he designed graphite rods for them before retiring. During his career he built rods out of bamboo, glass, graphite and boron.
