Subject: Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} June 15-20 Chatham MAYou can't get directly to Monomoy Island yourself. You have to either hire a guide or get a boat taxi. It's been too long since I've lived there, so not sure who's operating anymore. For flies, all you really need are chartreuse and white clousers and sand eel patterns for the stripers. An intermediate line would be ideal, but if you don't have it, float will work for Monomoy flats with heavier flies. Bring the sink tips anyway. If you fish the jetties, you'll want it.Poppers are fun for the bluefish, but very situational to be able to use them. Bring steel leaders if you'll chase them.--On Thu, May 31, 2018, 12:38 PM Alexander Vu <alexander.vu@gmail.com> wrote:--Ok. {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Fish Lake, UT
Anyone fished at Fish Lake in Utah? I’m going at the end of the month and will have a boat to fish from…

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} June 15-20 Chatham MA
- where to go (what spots to hit)
- what to flies work for that time (I think stripers would be in at that time),
- is it only floating lines or should I bring sinking tips.
- Contact info on good guides. I would much rather DIY the flats
Haven't been to the park recently but I hit up a few streams in the national forest over the weekend and the fishing was great. Streams were up but clear. Guessing the park should be the same.-----You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders" group. To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an email to tidal-potomac-fly-rodders+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com.To post to this group, send email to tidal-potomac-fly-rodders@googlegroups.com.To view this discussion on the web visit https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/tidal-potomac-fly-rodders/ad88d9c9-0ad5-48d1-ba47-333c5dccecb6%40googlegroups.com.For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout.

I have seen the snaggers out in force as of late but have not spotted any snakehead myself. I'd like to try to target them on the fly and have been focusing my attention around mid day, falling tide. The weeds are not in thick yet, so I've been looking around docks and rocks. Those of you that have had success with these fish. have you noticed any specific times of days, tides, types of days to have consistencies in spotting/catching fish?Thanks,-An angler who has yet to be slimed

Anyone else read The Feather Thief by Kirk Wallace Johnson?Back in 2010, I first heard of the story of Edwin Rist stealing rare bird skins from a British Museum to sell or use for Atlantic Salmon flies either on this google group or another fishing blog. The story was pretty intriguing or odd, as the primary "expensive" feathers I was aware of were chicken saddle hackles for dry flies and streamers. The story of this heist kind of fell off the map and was reignited in this new best selling book.I thought the book was a great read and included tons of details on Rist, the heist, and speculation on the current status of his loot. There were a couple maddening ignorant references for fishermen, including a reference to salmon spawning and then dying while the book is actually written about flies for Atlantic Salmon--fish that spawn and return; but otherwise I very much enjoyed the tale.Dalton
