{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Monocacy River

The article is very informative. It sounds like a lot of people in Frederick have their hearts in the right place. It's definitely an issue that the whole community will need to address and agree on a plan to fix together.

When you fish the stream it is easy to see that it is too turbid, even during low water periods. Couple that with the surprisingly low numbers of fish, and the proportion of fish with structural abnormalities, as a fisherman it makes my amygdala twitch. It should be, and someday could be, prime smallmouth habitat. Right now I would say it is impaired. And as the article points out, that has down stream consequences as well.
