John's help is a real treat -- the first fly rod I was given I took to a Sunday casting thing about 3 years ago now (?). Anyway, John picked up my fly rod that I knew "needed a different line" and casted it perfectly, and then offered some good pointers on my own cast. It's funny how that fly line works better for some people than others ;).--Anyway -- the FFF certified folks are (from what I gather) required to not only cast well, but more importantly -- articulate how to cast in order to help others. Anyone who has taught in a classroom will tell you that there's a difference between knowing something and knowing something well enough to teach it.
