{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Buy-Sell-Trade Google Group is Live

A couple months ago, we sent out a survey to our members to gauge interest on selling items between TPFR members. I would summarize the results as follows:
- Nearly all respondents had a desire to buy and sell gear with other members
- The vast majority of responses suggested that people wanted this to be separate from our main google group
- Many respondents were concerned about commercial entities and non-members participating (neither are allowed)
- About half of respondents desired an in-person gear swap, so we may do this down the road but an online venue was prioritized

After reviewing the detailed results of the survey, and going back and forth about the rules we have decided to go live the buy-sell-trade google group.

Go here to join the group, and please read the rules first.

Hopefully this new feature will work out well for all of our members, but if it becomes a major hassle or hurts the camaraderie of our community then we reserve the right to pull it down.

Thanks,
Dalton

Spey guys aren't much good at basic physics, and therefore generally work in bagel shops in the pacific NW.  The 13-14' rods make the tiny fish feel bigger.

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Four Mile Run cover

What flies are you using in 4 mile? Can you fish it all winter?

Ive fished the shad run for years and have been exploring Potomac smallmouth fishing from chain bridge to leesburg but haven't done any tidal Potomac bass fishing.

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Kori Bustard Feathers?

Keep in mind that that particular species has a "NT" conservation status, which means "nicely tufted" and generally good to use for fly tying and other sporting use.

Agreed, unless you just want to get another combo anyway.  In that case, you can make a "Colorado argument" that you need a 4, 4.5, 5, and 6 weight rod for rainbow trout and apply it to shad.

For the days when you're catching shad literally on every cast, I prefer a 7' 6 weight glass rod because a stiff 9' rod will kind of beat you up all day ;).
