{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Potomac North of Harper's Ferry

I'm wondering if anyone has seen the Potomac north of Harper's Ferry since all the rains of the last few weeks and whether the fishing conditions might be decent. Was thinking about taking my canoe up that way this weekend.  Am particularly interested in the area between Williamsport and Hancock. Thanks, Michael

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: C&O Canal Water Levels

They're apparently dredging the entire reach of the canal. This came from one of the workers who I ran onto last summer around Swains Lock. Not sure about water levels around Carderock, but everything I've seen from Chain Bridge up to Swains has been super low. You can find pockets here and there if you're willing to walk, but it's really low.

Interestingly, this hasn't translated (at least for me) into better carping conditions. I spent a few hours a couple of weeks ago around Chain Bridge and I didn't see a single fish. Weird, considering the excellent sight fishing conditions.

Interested to get idea about Canal water levels at CardeRock / Old Anglers Inn/ Wide Water  area.

Has 2024 Canal fishing been Average, Above Average or Below Average?

ThankYou

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Menhaden overfishing in the Bay

Any thoughts about how to get involved on the advocacy / conservation side of this fight? Is there a lead organization — maybe it's the Chesapeake Bay Foundation?

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Looking for Hunting parter(s)

Hey All,
First of all I know this is a fly fishing form. However I also know there is a lot of crossover between anglers and hunters. I checked with an excom member before posting this as well.

I'm looking for hunting partner(s) because several guys I've hunted with over the years have moved out of the area.  I also have a few other hunting buddies whom will be tied with work and family comments this hunting season. Thus will have very little time to hunt this year.

I'm primarily hunting in Maryland for whitetail and sika deer, waterfowl, wild turkey and doves. Although I've hunted through out the United States and Canada over the the years.
If interested in possibly hunting together please email me directly.
