{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} CASTING for Sunday, 9 June (second Sunday of the month)

We will have our casting get together on Sunday, 9 June at Fletcher's Cove from 8am to 11am

No particular focus for this Casting Church but bring your gear questions and questions on how to cast. We will work thru struggles you may be having.

Additionally, we will work on FFI Casting Skills challenges for anyone interested.

Come on out, whether you are a novice, intermediate, or advanced caster, it is all fun to work on solving casting problems and casting challenges.

If you are just getting started, this is a great way to meet people who can help.  There will be casting instructors on hand.
If you are preparing for an upcoming trip and looking to re-fresh your casting skills, this is a great opportunity.

Peter, are you fishing from the shore or a kayak? I've only ever fished it from shore, and it's a bit limited except around the dam, so I can't speak much to what stage of any cycle the lake might be in.

I'm curious about other opinions - when I first started fishing here in 2006, Burke was really great, but the last 2 or 3 years I've had a much harder time except if the crappie are spawning in the end by the dam.  Does not seem to be as many bass or panfish.  Is it me :-) ?

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Bluegill Tournament is Back (June 2024)

Casey, Owen, good questions. I have no problem with receiving the entry fee at the weigh-in on June 10th. I won't be at casting church, but I will be at Beer Tie for the Weigh in!

By the way, I think contestants will need to send their results to contact@tpfr.org. Not sure that was all that clear from the flyer.

Tournament begins next weekend! Who will win the most coveted award (Smallest Fish) this year?

For those who don't use Venmo, can we bring our entry fee to the next Casting Church on Sunday or the Beer Tie on Monday?

Regan,
I've had Too many warnings re venmo and its brothers, too many friends with accounts cleaned out by fraudsters for me to even begin to use it.
Are we old dinosaurs barred from entry in the bluegill tournament?
