I would be interested in a half day with a guide if there is any availability on such short notice... But I'm also game for DIY. I will be on foot as the rental will be in my wife's name for work.

Any tips on places to wade, guides to hit up, or just nice places to cast and likely get skunked?

Feistiest cat I ever caught—and I've accidentally caught a lot—was a saltwater catfish that couldn't have been longer than 10 inches. Caught it down in Estero Bay, south of Ft. Myers Beach. That little sucker punched (and pulled) way beyond its weight; I thought I'd accidentally snagged a young hammerhead. He punched a hole so deep in my Merrel hiking boots that I had to use both hands and the other foot to pry him off. Threw him back with a salute. It was harder getting the hook out of his mouth than a three foot hammerhead I'd caught earlier.

Just out this this AM. Water still at 3.5ft and cloudy. Water was very
cloudy even up the tributaries of Seneca Creek. No fish today biting.

Anyone know what conditions are like in the canal out near Violettes? I'm hoping to fish Senaca this weekend and then paddle back up the canal.

I was there a few years back, can't wait to go back. No fishing recommendations BUT.......

For the sake of every fly-fisherman out there....drink a dunkle at every brewhouse, and you can't swing a dead cat in Munich without hitting one!!
