Thank you for the posts on carp sightings in the C & O. I took my seven year old with me down to Lock 7 this morning (we toyed with the idea of going to Fletcher's but I was a bit worried about the wind and cold temps). Had three good chances at feeding carp just below the Lock and was able to hook and land two fish - both on McTage's foam trouser worm. My son helped me fight both of the fish - loved the heavy pull and strong runs - and then was kind enough to take pictures of me holding them!

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Family & Youth Casting Call on May 16

Hello TPFR friends,

I wanted to let you know that the 2015 Family & Youth Casting Call at Fletcher's Cove will be Saturday, May 16. We would love to have you all come out and help teach local families how to fish. Last year we had several TPFR folks help with this event and it made a difference to have those experienced anglers guding the newby's on the in's and out's of fishing. The event runs from 10 am to 3 pm so you can arrive early and fish for shad, come back in and help for a few hours, have lunch with us, and then go back on the river after the event! If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at 202-754-2249. You can register online to volunteer at www.familyandyouthcastingcall.com. See you on the water! Teresa
