Join TPFR St Patrick's Day Weekend on an informal Steelhead Trip fishing Salmon River Pulaski, New YorkThis is not a guided or instructional . One needs to have basic fly fishing knowledge. Although I'm sure experienced Steelhead Anglers on the trip will be happy to share tips and insight. Some of the most productive techniques are swinging flies, indicator nymphing and bottom bouncing. I like this one, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0741BSG3R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it will run on 4 AAs or it has a USB power cable that will connect to a power pack. Only shortcoming is that it could be taller - but you could also buy two and have more light. Jo-Ann's has Ott Lites on sale for 40...

Eric,I'm a lefty as well and thought I'd share a trick I found for watching fly tying videos on YouTube. Hey, thanks everybody - Greg Feder's caution I think wins the day - it's also the same reason I don't like chest packs or Richardson flyboxes (and I was gifted one!): GOTTA SEE MY FEET. So I'll stick with distance corrected shades and flip focals - maybe just up the diopterMark On Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:06:43 AM UTC-5 tom.so...@gmail.com wrote:Hi:Switched to progressive(s) for everything years ago. {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Fairfax Area Fishing Spots
Can anyone recommend some good spots in the Fairfax area (I live in McLean) to take my son to catch anything this time of year? He has a spin cast rod and I will be bringing my fly rod to get some practice and catch whatever bites. Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Prescription sunglasses
Hi:Switched to progressive(s) for everything years ago. Took about a week to get comfortable. Use my everyday transition glasses + oakleys and am set for dark to bright conditions. I like the wrap-arounds better for outside - my eye doesn't get distracted by the lens frame - but would not do reflective lenses again. Good luckOn Friday, February...
Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Prescription sunglasses
I wear progressives and have decided against prescription sunglasses for the reason that Greg Feder mentions. So I have settled on Cocoons over my glasses instead. I am sure that they are not the best solution, but they suit me fine, and I can concentrate on my footing! If anyone else has experience with wrap arounds over prescription glasses, I would welcome the feedback.Gregg RockettOn Friday, February 17, 2023 at...

Mark —If you're going to fish in bi- or multi-focals, keep in mind that the near vision is usually on the bottom of the lens, which is what you're looking through when you're stepping carefully and trying not to fall down. It can be dangerous. Consider Rx distance correction with flip down magnifiers for knot-tying, etc. Or get some progressives so you can read at the beach! Cheers, -- GregSent from...

I'm need to fully expend my FSA account - prescription shades are an eligible expense.I already wear polarized shades, brown lenses seem to work best for me. Launching with a trailer at Fletchers is prohibited. You can carry your raft from the lot down. People will sometimes unlawfully open the gate or move the railroad ties that cordon off the lower parking area at the bottom of the cove and back down and dump their boats in the water there.
