Mark IMO there's a bunch of things to factor into this or any plan: Are you vaccinated? Boosted? Do you have any underlying health issues? Do you live with anyone who does? Have you had COVID already? How recently? Do you plan on wearing a mask? Keeping your distance? Central and North-Central PA should be good that time of year. For Central PA, I would give the Feathered Hook in Coburn (fly-shop and fishing B&B a call. You might even stay there at the B&B if you don't feel like camping (or for the first night to have a place to stay if you leave right after work). Western MD has tons of wild trout and stocked trout water (NBP, Lower Savage, Upper Savage). There is camping all throughout the savage river state park as well as along the north branch of potomac at barnum. Though the NBP is better floated I have always done great wading as well.
