Thanks for helping me out that weekend. Looking forward to more outings…Shad season is coming! What kind of line is recommended for shad, sink tip or full sinking? I have a 9 foot 5 wt and thinking about overlining to a 6 wt line to get the line down faster. Thoughts? On Mon, Feb 21, 2022 at 9:46 PM Regan Burmeister <reganebur@gmail.com> wrote:Thanks to everyone for coming out Sunday to the Gunpowder....

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Lancaster Fly Fishing Show & Covid
Mark IMO there's a bunch of things to factor into this or any plan: Are you vaccinated? Boosted? Do you have any underlying health issues? Do you live with anyone who does? Have you had COVID already? How recently? Do you plan on wearing a mask? Keeping your distance? Generally speaking, this is the best time to do something like this since March 2020. -SeanOn Mon, Feb 28, 2022 at 10:03 AM namfos <mark.sofman@gmail.com>...

Anyone have any suggestions as to the best place to sell used equipment? I have a rod and some fly lines that I would like to sell. I have sold stuff on speypages in the past but this is not spey material. Doesn't look like the buy/sell board on here gets much traffic. -- http://www.tpfr.org --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders"...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Gunpowder excursion

If it's any consolation, I was out in the general area on a different stream Sunday with my dad and we were both shut out as well. Dad had one eat from a small brown but missed it. Unfortunately I didn't remember this event was happening until I was driving over the Gunpowder and on my way to meet him at the other stream. I hope to make it...

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Winter on the Gunpowder
Thanks to everyone for coming out Sunday to the Gunpowder. It was a beautiful day, quite brisk in the morning. Thanks especially to Richie and Joe for the breakfast pancakes and coffee.Personally, I blanked. I had one grab (I prefer to swing and strip (no, not that kind of activity)), and that was it. I tried hard, working downstream from the parking lot maybe 300 yds, presenting to all kinds of holes and structure,...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Gunpowder excursion
Agreed, Greg. Now that I can feel my fingers again, I can add my thanks to the organizers, Rich and the griddlers, and the guides and TPFR members who provided tips on casting, wading, and reading water. It was also nice to meet some of the people behind the names I read in emails from NCCTU, NVATU, and of course, TPFR. I...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Recommendation for best option for 3-4 night mid-May fishing and camping trip
Central and North-Central PA should be good that time of year. For Central PA, I would give the Feathered Hook in Coburn (fly-shop and fishing B&B a call. You might even stay there at the B&B if you don't feel like camping (or for the first night to have a place to stay if you leave right after work). Up further in North Central PA, Pine creek if you really want a remote stream. There are good...

Western MD has tons of wild trout and stocked trout water (NBP, Lower Savage, Upper Savage). There is camping all throughout the savage river state park as well as along the north branch of potomac at barnum. Though the NBP is better floated I have always done great wading as well.
