{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Fishing Near Lexington, KY

Dan, I was born and raised in Louisville, KY and just recently moved to DC this past year. If you make your way towards Louisville, try out otter creek (just keep an eye on TU and KY fish and wildlife postings regarding stockings) I always enjoyed fishing Taylorsville Lake and the tailwater of it. A great place to start checking places to fish trout will be ky fish and wildlife website to see where they stock and when. If you're a bass guy, you're in luck! Many more opportunities to fish bass! You can meet up with Derby City Fly Fishing and they can also tell you some other great spots as well. Keep in mind that KY has the most running water of any state, except Alaska! There are great fishing opportunities and i know youll be happy with it! Feel free to ask me anything about KY fishing

Thanks in advance,

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Davala Sighting

Thanks, everybody!  We miss you all tons, but we know we are supposed to be up here for now.  It warms our hearts to know that TPFR is going strong and that the relationships forged are gaining strength.  Relationships are so important! We think of you all so often, especially with the bittersweet weekend upon us for our friends at Urban Angler.  We love you guys!

Over the last couple of years, I have been learning that my faith and resolve can be proven in times of uncertain transition and even great loss.  Here's to celebrating what new directions may be opened with a willing perspective.  There is always a reason.  Use it!:)  Happy Friday, friends!  Love, hugs and cheers!!!

Hello from Vermont on behalf of all the Davalas!:)  Yes, Dan will be at the Somerset show all weekend, and he'll be passing out hugs from all of us to all of you.  The kids and I will not be able to make it this year, but we look forward to hearing all of Daddy's stories of catching up with good friends from home.  Wishing all of you the very best!  Cheers!!

I also like WD-40 midges.

I'll start - though I haven't had a chance to fish it yet, I love the look of the 3 dollar dip (tim flagler has a video), so I tied up a bunch of those in different colors.

RE: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} PHEFF Fly tying Event

John, Marty was referring to the Quantico event.  We will, however have and event on March 19 at the Port City Brewery in conjunction with the Walter Reed PHWFF Program.  More details will follow as the time gets closer.  We had one last year at this same location and it was a great success.  Hope you can come up for it.

I wrote and inquired about the fly tying event to benefit PHW as I was considering making the trip up from SC to participate.  Here's the message I got back:

Hi John

We will not be having the Quantico Fly Tying Marathon this year as the Marine Corps Museum is closed until sometime April/May for a major remodel.
