{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Oct trip to Salmon and Oswego rivers, NY

John Bilotta and I took a trip up to Pulaski this week to fish for steelhead, swinging flies on the double-hand rods. Very tough fishing for steelhead, not very many in the river yet. I briefly played one on the Salmon River but it shook the hook.

I caught this female chinook on the swing on the Salmon River and that was terrific fun. Amazing power in this fish, and incredible to see the double-hand bent so deep.

Tried our luck a couple times on the Oswego with our guide, Eliot Jenkins, for anything that would bite a fly. I had two hard hits but lost them; operator error on my part.  Saw lots of spinning rig guys bringing out salmon, steelhead, and trout.

All in all, a great trip!
