Looking to redeem myself from the above epic gizzard shad post fail, I took my colleague Mike Dailey out Somewhere On The Potomac (email me for the location;) this morning. He caught three hickories and the American (???)* in the picture. Also a ton of small perch. All of this was using an olive clouser minnow, while my arsenal of brightly colored shad flies got nothing. I missed a couple strikes, but nothing like the attention Dailey got on that olive clouser. Alas, he only had the one -- and a white clouser didn't get anything, either.
