{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Has anyone fished around Zion National Park, Utah

Hey Terry,

I went to college in Flagstaff, AZ.  Lee's ferry is definitely the place to go.  There is some decent fishing in the lakes as well (Powell and Mead) but you would prob need a boat for that.  There are a few stocked lakes in the Flagstaff area (which is a cool town to check out fishing aside), though the lakes are not a destination themselves.  Oak creek canyon between flagstaff and Sedona has native brook trout and is another place that if you didn't catch a single fish would still be awesome to visit.  Lastly, in the eastern part of Arizona there are the white mountains which I have backpacked in, not fished, but reportedly have a bunch of good trout streams.

If you end up in flagstaff the fly shop there is called Peace Surplus http://www.peacesurplus.com/index2.php#/rtext_6/  They could likely provide more info on fishing in N. Arizona S. Utah.

Sounds like an awesome trip anyway you go! I am real jealous!

Tom

I am heading out to Vages for a conference at the end of June and plan to rent a car and explore for a week ending in Phoenix.  One stop will be Lee's Ferry, AZ.   but I am thinking about Zion or Bryce Canyons area.  Anyone who has trout fishing info on that area I would love to hear from you.   Thanks Terry
