{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: About to make my 1st 2013 foray into the salt

The Clouser's and Sand Candy patterns are you best bet for flies along with sinking or intermediate line. If Blues are around you better have some rough leaders. If you don't have good balance and aren't use to walking on slippery rocks even with corkers on  stay off the rocks, being mobile around the Jetty's is the most important thing carry just what you need. keep checking your leaders for small gashes the rocks are unforgiving.

Heading up to NJ this weekend, can't wait. We're going up to do a Cystic Fibrosis charity walk on Sunday in Pt Pleasant. We're staging at a friend's house in Brigantine on Saturday... In the down time I hope to get tight with stripers or blues or something off the jetties or in the surf. Pt pleasant has great fishing, never tried Brigantine, anyone out there with any pointers? Tentatively, I'm planning tactics around 9-ft 8 and 10 weights with sinking line. Clousers, sand eels, surf candy.... We'll see.
