{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} I need help with attaching pictures for all tech people out there

Why is it that if I start a new thread and e-mail a picture like my cicada then it goes through, but if I try and attach a picture to an already existing thread in a reply, I get a message file to big.  It could be the exact same picture ?         I don't get it   :(
