Missed this, I should check more often. Allenberry has good access (and a pretty decent restaurant); there's also access to the run via the park immediately downstream of the lake in Boiling Springs and the immediate confluence area.On Monday, June 17, 2024 at 8:06:15 PM UTC-4 Gregg Rockett wrote:Hi Brad. Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} What wading boots are you all LOVING?
I am with Greg, I like my Korkers. As you wear out a pair of boots, you can keep the soles. As an example, I usually wear my felt soles but have a pair of bar soles that I only wear a little, so I keep those.KevinOn Tue, Jun 18, 2024, 10:36 AM 'Greg Feder' via Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders <tidal-potomac-fly-rodders@googlegroups.com> wrote:I really like my Korkers River Ops Boa. Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} What wading boots are you all LOVING?
I really like my Korkers River Ops Boa. They are expensive but based on my last pair of Korkers (I forget what model but they're no longer made) I expect them to last. I like the ankle support in these boots. I feel I can really lock that in so I don't roll an ankle but they are still comfortable to hike up and down SNP river access trails. Of course with Korkers you have interchangeable soles so...

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} What wading boots are you all LOVING?
My Simms Freestones are starting to give up the ghost. ( a moment of silence, please.) Curious to know if anyone in the group wants to shout from the mountaintops about how great their wading boots are as I begin the slow contemplation on deciding on a replacement. Most interested in the WHY you think they're great, if strong opinions prevail. Thanks in advance.-Sikes -- http://www.tpfr.org --- You received this...

Ah fair enough, sorry! Was totally intended to be a dig at Fairfax county for bleeding the populace dry with exorbitant rental rates rather than a dig at a perfectly capable kayak. Considering I don't have a boat of any sort, they're all yachts to me! On C.F. Phelps - I just found it kind of frustrating - it's on literally miles of public water, but there is no access to it except two spots: 1) up at the Kelly's Ford boat ramp,...

Hi Brad. Access near to the Allenberry Resort is good. I ask you to consider starting early and to stop fishing before noon. I was just fishing waters near Gettysburg this past weekend. The waters warmed up considerably by lunch time and the fish were easily stressed under those conditions. Low water, warm temps and low oxygen are perilous conditions for trout. well, considering i drive 1.5 hours to get to work, 1.5 hours to fishing access is fine. you may be able to access the Rappahannock down at the rt 29 bridge; there's a parking area on the east side south of the bridge. On Monday, June 17, 2024 at 9:15:24 AM UTC-4 Andrew D wrote:Yeah that spot is still over 2h for me unfortunately. What about the MD side? Rock Creek is well, Rock Creek but the Monacacy has ample public access and in sufficiently low water the Violette's/Swain's Lock area has good wading. For trout you have the Gunpowder ~15/20 minutes north of Baltimore and the Cactoctin streams, plus Beaver Creek. On Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 4:24:15 PM UTC-4 Andrew D wrote:Starting to get annoyed with this state (VA) and the poor access we have to what...

{Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Getting Annoyed with Poor Access
Starting to get annoyed with this state (VA) and the poor access we have to what should be public water. I spent like 3 hours walking around the C.F.
