Thank you all for the recommendations! Had no idea I'd have so many replies!Trip turned out great. Ibuprofen and water filter was a life saver for long days and catching up the morning after the whiskey for dinner. Battery charger was killer on day 3 when a little music and photos on the phone were critical for morale and keeping the wife happy upon return. Dr. Bronner made for an important few morning baths after lots of afternoon...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Virginia DWR Blog: 5 Great Places to Fish After (Or Before!) Work—Northern Virginia
Thanks, Gregg, for the note! Glad you liked the article. Sorry for the delay as I'm out in N. Idaho to visit family—and, fish, of course. The fishing Gods smiled upon me yesterday and I boated 20+ cutthroat on dries and hopper/droppers on a 1/2-day float; several were in the 16-plus inch range. A good crane fly hatch helped. Even caught a Virginia-sized brookie in the river, but the colors weren't nearly as vivid...

Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: Tarpon - virginia question?
I have fished for tarpon on the Eastern Shore of Va and can tell you it is not an easy game. Last time out we had 19 roll at the boat throughout the day, but with near zero visibility chances of a hookup were slim to none. The tarpon community here is very tight lipped. A good guide catering to fly fishermen may be hard to find.JSent from my iPhoneOn Jun 23, 2023, at 3:43 PM, brad dreisbach <bsdreisbach@gmail.com> wrote:I...

Carry permethrin spray and tweezers, wear long pants if you will be walking through bankside vegetation and check yourself and others DAILY for ticks. If you have serious allergies, don't forget your epi-pen. Costco in Wheaton last weekend had Lifestraws at 4 for $29. Be careful about applying high concentration DEET compounds directly to skin.MarkOn Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 9:01:01 AM UTC-4 tom.so...@gmail.com wrote:"Night...
