Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Re: How's the water at Fletchers?
Oh I've lost too many anchor rigs myself lol. So now I do what the boat house does. I fashion an anchor out of rope and a river rock. I actually have a specific rock that I bring with me because I got tired of searching for one each time. The best rocks are hefty enough without being unwieldy. It can be windy at Fletcher's and my raft gets blown around quite easily. So rather than chance it I now have a pet rock.

Great report!!! I had the same luck yesterday picking up a few here and there. Nothing crazy! First time out on my kayak and I lost my whole anchor set up due to a snag - how do you rig yours up?!

Finished with six total, still pretty slow. Chartreuse was the ticket in the murky water. Lost one big hickory. For some reason every fish I got to hand was exactly 15.5". Water came up a good bit today. Definitely some color which improved the fishing. Fish took the fly much more aggressively than they have been. By far my best day of the year. Not sure what it will go up to but it could be shot tomorrow. I'd check the gauge before heading out. Being retired I don't have to work from home and I can only tie so many flies. Cabin fever / wife fever setting in so I've been isolating myself by fishing areas that I feel I can be a healthy distance from others. Tried a new place yesterday, Cove Creek in PA. Re: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} TFO Axiom Rods
Honestly, just based off of reviews. I will use it primarily for saltwater fishing and prefer faster rods for the salt and the 2x is said to be a bit faster. Some reviews also suggested the axiom wasn't as accurate at longer distances. I also saw some reviews comparing the axiom to the bvk and they preferred the bvk. Its all based on someone elses casting though so you have to take it with a grain of salt....
