Thats an idea but I'm thinking that's sinker will get hung up in the rocks a lot more easily than a striper jig will. With the threat of getting your fly line trapped In the rocks.
If you try that fish the Virginia side of the lower cove above Walkers. It's not very deep and not so rocky.

The heaviest line I have is 300 grain and I'm not in a position to buy another. I'm wondering if a sinker a few feet above the fly would work?--
And for spin fishing, what are you jigging with? I have several of those swim shad baits in a few different sizes. Would something like that work?
