I was able to fish it for 2 hrs @ 6am. Forgot how good the early morn bite is. About 2 dz gills, couple of large mouth and a bonus smallie were landed, all on a jet black popper. Gauge is holding at a steady 3 ft which perfect for this flow. I have an LLBean streamlight ultra large arbor reel that I like a lot (I have the largest size, in an 8/9). Reels was ~$90 and spools are about $50. Holds a good amount of line and has treated me well so far, though I've had it less than a year. Well I am down if we can pull some people together. As far as boats go I have a kayak for myself and a spare kayak to lend to someone if they are interested in joining. It is not really outfitted to carry flyrods but I have made it work before. I also have a fishcat 9 single person pontoon boat that I am willing to lend out if someone feels like messing with that. Sam, I plan to keep the boat around Needwood for the duration of the tourney. We'll see what happens as things progress. Just tied up a bunch of gar flies too as there were loads of them around the docks last year during the weigh in.
